Meet Elliott
One of the biggest joys I find in doing this work is being able to share it with other people, either through teaching or creating something special and unique to them.
Blacksmithing was something I threw myself into with gusto a couple of years ago and I haven’t looked back.
And it makes sense, considering as a kid I was always filled with exploration. (Or always up to mischief? You decide.)
Dad would let me go into his shed and use his tools (as long as I cleaned up). And this must have sparked a curisity in me to know how things were put together.
I’ve had many labouring jobs over the years and now as an artisan blacksmith I find all of that unique experience really falls into place. It gives me the ability to be innovative and come at problems with an ‘out-of-the-box’ solution.
I love to create pieces that have great meaning, symbolism and beauty to my clients. I draw a lot of influence from the organic shapes in nature and love to capture them with hot steel. Plus, I’ll admit sometimes I just like to create work because it’s fun to experiment with and for the pure enjoyment of the creative process.

Other than my forge, I’m also a bit of a stained-glass collector (addict?) And I keep buying vintage machinery that I don’t really need. Plus, between my partner and I, we have in our world 4 dogs, a tiny home, a teenager, a workshop, 3 businesses and a toddler. So…we keep busy.
